{design, engineering, product, …}
I can help you define, refine, & ship.
I specialize in concept development, requirements, and NPI planning for early-stage hardware startups. You may have a proof of concept, but you’re figuring out how you’re going to get from there to mass production. I can bring experience from over a dozen industry-leading B2B & D2C new product introductions to help you map that journey and get the most out of your idea (in several hours a week).
I can help you grow.
Organic team growth will define your culture, but intentionality in business and partnership models will ensure you’re only hiring the team you absolutely need. Choose your ideal NPI model and what you must control in-house. Then let the culture grow your business in ways you couldn’t have imagined on your own.
{Design}
As much a process as a study, design gets to the heart of what products need to do - while not losing sight of what they are. Honesty in material selection, affordances inspired by daily use, and accessibility for all users are what drive me as a designer.
{Engineering}
Trained as a mechanical engineer at Notre Dame and Lutron Electronics, I love spinning CAD. However, through extensive work using the circuit analogies of acoustics, managing teams of electrical engineers, and 17 years in labs and on manufacturing lines, I can define block diagrams, vet critical components, advise in reliability plans, and optimize your manufacturing process.
{Product}
Working as an engineer with product managers, or as a product manager with engineers, I am comfortable from concept through success with in-house or international dev teams.
